With as many Great Island Common engagement sessions as we’ve done we always see new opportunities for photos and it was no different with Duy + Emily’s.
A music teacher and a Catholic Pre-School Teacher.
They met through Duy’s brother in the summer of 2008. Duy was immediately taken by Emiy’s beauty and gentle, caring nature. Emily was drawn to his kindness. Duy asked Emily on a date and they visited Emiy’s favorite place on the New England coast, Rye Beach. Their unforgettable date led to several unforgettable years together.
In between many more dates, they fell in love. Duy realized his life wouldn’t ever be the same without Emily and started planning the most romantic and surprise proposal. The first step involved a series of road trips. About two weeks before he took Emily to all their favorite date destinations. One of the spots included the New Hampshire mountain where they got lost hiking. But on this visit, they made it to the summit. The second step was to compose a choral love song, “How Do I Love Thee” and then organize a group of ten singers to perform the song. On a beautiful summer day, at the exact location where they had their first date, Duy’s surprise unfolded. And it was no surprise when Emily said yes!!! to Duy’s marriage proposal in front the sparkling blue Atlantic Ocean.
Working with Duy and Emily was extra awesome because Laurie Mantegari of Everyday Details was their wedding planner and coordinator. Laurie and her team rock every wedding and make sure every bride’s wedding is the day they dreamed of.
