A few weeks back I was working in my office and noticed Cardinals flying in and out of the Sandcherry bush right outside my window. When I mentioned it to Deb (the birdwatcher in the house) she took a closer look and discovered a nest…not even 5 feet from my window! About 2 weeks later the babies hatched and we woke to their little chirps. These photos were taken on Saturday, July 31, 2010. I took the screen off the window, set up the tripod and stuck the camera out a partially opened window to capture these great moments. On the following Monday morning they were practicing the art of keeping their balance while perched on small branches. We left for a workshop in Boston and when we returned that evening they were gone.
Enjoy!
