There are no words to describe how much we loved capturing this Lowell City Hall wedding. We’ve been dreaming of photographing a City Hall wedding for a while now. A few months ago, Ida and Scott reached out and asked if we would document their wedding at Lowell City Hall in Lowell, Massachusetts. They shared their plans of an intimate ceremony with their parents, aunt and godfather present. We just knew this was going to be different… And it was!
On a Thursday afternoon, full of ease, giddiness, excitement, laughter and love, they entered Lowell City Hall and headed right for the City Clerk’s office to pick up their marriage license. After signing a few documents, they headed up the marble stairs to the Mayor’s Reception Room for their ceremony officiated by Ida’s godmother. Their decision to start their lives together with full focus on their marriage was so special. The intimacy and simplicity of the entire afternoon resonated with us and everything we love about love. They were not a slave to their schedule, they were not pulled in a million directions, they did not do anything because “that’s what you are supposed to do on your wedding day”. Instead, their day was marked with ease, smiles, laughter and people that deeply love Ida and Scott.
Following their ceremony we journeyed to the Stonehedge Hotel + Spa in Tyngsborough, MA and spent some time documenting Scott + Ida’s love for each other. They were then joined by their parents for dinner.
Scott + Ida, thank you for trusting us to document your special day!
Show Scott + Ida some L.O.V.E. with a Like, share or comment.
The mood and emotions are amazing!
Thank you for sharing this. You truly captured the beauty and comfortable air of the couple and the settings.
Can you get married the same day you apply for the marriage certificate? Also, I too would like to get married at Lowell City Hall today on Friday the 13th. Is this possible?
