Their paths crossed while in college. Megan attended the University of Delaware while Klye was at UMass Amherst. Meghan and Klye were members of their college marching bands. The great friendship of their band directors Heidi Sarver (UD) and The late George N.Parks (UMass Amherst) brought them together at a band rehearsal on the practice field of UD. Heidi and George had the two college bands travel whenever UD and UMass played football. And as destiny would have it, Kyle and Meg both played the mellophone and during the UD half time show while the two bands played together, they stood next to each other. Their first meeting wasn’t much of one since they barely had any time to talk and mingle before they had to separate. Months later their paths would cross again in Ireland during a trip their bands were to play in the Dublin New Year’s Day parade. The mellophone sections from both colleges hung out together and at a pub called Munroe’s, where Megan and Kyle met. Megan easily stole Kyle’s heart with her beauty, compassion and lovable personality. After returning from Ireland Kyle made many road trips in pursuit of the woman of his dreams. And Megan was unrelenting in making their long-distance relationship work. It didn’t take long for her to fall for Kyle’s engaging, warm and fun loving personality.
A year later, on a gorgeous fall day, with the help of Kyle’s brother Greg, the three set out on a hike up Mt. Monadnock where Kyle planned to propose. At the top Kyle led Megan down a less traveled path with a magnificent view. As planned, Greg offered to take a photo and Kyle snuck the ring out of his back pack and proposed…
