Too busy, need to have my hair done, roots\u00a0are showing, when I lose 10 more pounds, it&#8217;s hard to get everyone together&#8230; We&#8217;ve heard it. Many times. Sadly enough, it just never happens.<\/p>\n<p>Here are three solid reasons family portrait photography should be an important part of your life. We&#8217;ll even\u00a0share our personal experience (and regrets).<\/p>\n<h3>1. Document Growth<\/h3>\n<p>All too often we forget about our past because we are so busy building our futures. Our children grow up too fast! In the blink of an eye they are\u00a0packing their bags and going off to college. Gone overnight are the days of the little pitter-patters of feet walking toward the bedroom door to wake\u00a0us up at 6 in the morning.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-3497 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/masterevent.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/new-hampshire-portrait-photography_0069.jpg\" alt=\"family portrait photography - twin toddlers climbing stairs b&amp;w\" width=\"900\" height=\"599\" data-nopin=\"nopin\" srcset=\"https:\/\/masterevent.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/new-hampshire-portrait-photography_0069.jpg 900w, https:\/\/masterevent.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/new-hampshire-portrait-photography_0069-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/masterevent.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/new-hampshire-portrait-photography_0069-366x244.jpg 366w, https:\/\/masterevent.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/new-hampshire-portrait-photography_0069-732x488.jpg 732w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>When children are younger, having a portrait of the family done each year is a great way to document the progress each of them is making as they\u00a0grow. As children grow up they find their own lives and move away. The days when family all stayed within a few miles of each other are long gone.\u00a0Take advantage of the time you have together while you have it by having family pictures taken by a professional photographer. It&#8217;s a sweet reminder of life together.<\/p>\n<h3>2. Life Happens<\/h3>\n<p>We may not want to admit it but the make-up of the family can change without warning and loved ones may pass on. There\u2019s no reason to\u00a0squander the opportunity to capture life together now. You never know when that last chance for a family photo will come. Rick + I are both statistics\u00a0here. We each have siblings that have left us unexpectedly and we have very few pictures of ourselves with them.<\/p>\n<h3>3. Reliving Memories<\/h3>\n<p>Pictures in general bring us back in time. Take this picture for example. This is a picture of Rick&#8217;s son&#8217;s little feet in his red Converse sneakers. That\u00a0was his &#8220;brand&#8221; at that age. He wore them all the time. We look at this picture and it takes us right back to him sitting on the sofa watching television.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3495\" src=\"http:\/\/masterevent.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/new-hampshire-portrait-photography_0066.jpg\" alt=\"red converse sneakers on little boy\" width=\"900\" height=\"991\" data-nopin=\"nopin\" srcset=\"https:\/\/masterevent.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/new-hampshire-portrait-photography_0066.jpg 900w, https:\/\/masterevent.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/new-hampshire-portrait-photography_0066-272x300.jpg 272w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Family pictures, or portraits have that same power. They bring us back in time. They&#8217;re a great way to reminisce. They are also a part of our legacy. In years to\u00a0come, grandchildren and great-grandchildren may someday ask to see pictures of the family, and wouldn&#8217;t it just be sad if there were few or none to\u00a0share? Don\u2019t make excuses or put it off any\u00a0longer. You can\u2019t go back in time for a redo, so avoid setting yourself up for an \u201cI wish\u201d situation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">\u00a0If you&#8217;ve been thinking about having a family portrait taken, do it. Do it for your children.
