For our team at Rick Bouthiette Photography, this time of year typically marks the beginning of summer wedding festivities. &nbsp;However, 2020 has been anything but typical. Despite the ever-changing landscape we continue to live through on a daily basis, wedding pros and couples alike have used creative thinking to ensure that we make the most of our temporary new normal. Here are some of the best tips we\u2019ve come across so far!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Embrace \u201cMini-monies\u201d<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Many couples postponed their weddings back in early March after the initial nationwide shutdown took place. Since then, it has become clear that we will be dealing with the aftermath of COVID-19 for longer than some may have initially expected. As a result, many couples have now decided to have smaller wedding ceremonies with social distancing compliance in mind. The aptly named, \u201cmini-monies\u201d are a great, intimate solution for couples who still wish to hold their ceremony in 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sequel Weddings<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>For those couples that were in the midst of planning their extravagant dream wedding, having to suddenly downsize in order to comply with social distancing guidelines can be a devastating blow. Many couples in this situation have decided to plan a sequel wedding. Popular among celebrities, sequel weddings involve smaller wedding ceremonies or elopements that precede larger scale grand receptions. This allows couples to hold intimate ceremonies in the present with their closest loved ones and recreate their special day with all of their friends and family once it safe to do so again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Weekday Weddings<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you would rather postpone your wedding altogether, you are not alone. Many couples have elected to postpone their wedding to 2021 in hopes that the dust from COVID-19 will be settled by then. In fact, so many couples are doing this that it is becoming increasingly difficult to book weekend dates at some venues. While sticking with your initial day is most ideal, there are some silver linings attached to choosing a weekday wedding. For your traveling guests, a weekday wedding may serve as a convenient weekend extension.
